2020 Jeep Renegade at Village Jeep

The Jeep Renegade is part of the growing number of subcompact-crossover SUVs, and it's a strong competitor thanks to its superior off-road capability and eclectic fix of features and options. Its rough and tumble design is reminiscent of a baby Jeep Wrangler, and the front-wheel-drive system is based on the Italian-made Fiat. But if you go with four-wheel-drive, or the Trailhawk, the Renegade has outstanding off-road credentials. We are also big fans of the Renegades tidy size, nimble driving ability, and fresh exterior design. There is so much more the Renegade has to offer. Keep reading to find out about all the features!

Two four-cylinder engines are available for the 2020 Renegade. Sport and Latitude trims come with a 2.4-liter version with 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, while the Traillhawk and Limited get a 1.3-liter with 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Renegade can tow up to 2,000 pounds when it's fully equipped. The 1.3-liter turbo engine comes with a stop and start system that cuts power as then engine idles to improve fuel efficiency. If you dislike the restarts, you can turn them off with the touch of the business.

What are the Notable Features for the Renegade?

The Jeep Renegade comes in four different trim levels with the base level Sport getting power windows, air conditioning, 16-inch steel wheels, and cruise control. There is also an infotainment system with a 5-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth. Moving up to the Latitude brings Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Uconnect system as well as dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights and cornering fog lights, illuminated vanity mirror, second-row USB port, and premium-wrapped steering wheel. The most off-road capable of all the Renegades is the Trailhawk, which comes with terrain-select with Rock mode and hill-descent control, skid plates, full-size spare tire, and tow hooks. Limited versions get leather interior, power-adjustable driver's seat, heated steering wheel and front seats, and remote engine start.

What are some of the safety features?

Jeep puts your safety first, which is why the SUV can be outfitted with several different safety systems. For 2020, all trims are available with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. You also get the option of a Forward Collison Warning System with Active Braking, which alerts you when the Renegade senses a potential frontal impact. If you fail to respond and the threat continues, the Renegade will engage the brakes. Also, the ParkSense Rear Park System uses sensors to alert you if you are too close to another vehicle when backing up and can even stop the Renegade at low speeds when an object is sensed.
