It's a midsize pickup that's 100% truck and 100% Jeep, and here to impress. Below, we have gone over all of the Gladiator's features for the 2024 model year!
Unmatched Capability of the 2024 Gladiator
The 2024 Jeep Gladiator stands out as the pinnacle of 4x4 capability in the midsize truck category, boasting unmatched towing prowess, best-in-class 4x4 payload capacity, and new additions for 2024, such as the standard rear locking differential and Off-Road+ feature on the Willys model. This rugged machine is designed to conquer the most challenging off-road landscapes, whether navigating the treacherous trails of Moab, tackling the legendary Rubicon Trail, or mastering unforgiving desert terrain. It achieves this thanks to its legendary Jeep 4x4 systems, offering four advanced transfer case options, including the Command-Trac and Selec-Trac with 2.72:1 low range ratios, as well as the Rock-Trac and Rock-Trac full-time transfer cases with 4:1 low range ratios. The Rubicon model even comes with a best-in-class 84:1 crawl ratio. With a water fording capability of up to 31.5 inches, impressive approach, departure, and breakover angles, and a substantial ground clearance of 11.6 inches, the Gladiator is ready for any challenge. Additionally, it boasts an unbeatable 4x4 max towing capacity of up to 7,700 pounds and best-in-class payload capacity of up to 1,725 pounds. Every Gladiator model proudly wears the Trail Rated or Desert Rated badge, highlighting its exceptional features, including Dana 44 heavy-duty front and rear axles, a two-speed transfer case, traction control, multiple tow hooks, four-wheel disc brakes, three skid plates, and a minimum tire size of 32 inches, making it the ultimate choice for adventure seekers.
Off-Roading With the Rubicon and Mojave
The legendary capability of the Gladiator Rubicon is underpinned by a comprehensive suite of off-road features, which include a Rock-Trac part-time transfer case with a 4:1 4LO ratio, electronic front sway-bar disconnect, Tru-Lok front and rear axle lockers, robust Dana 44 heavy-duty solid front and rear axles boasting a 4.10 axle ratio, 17-inch aluminum wheels paired with 33-inch all-terrain tires, distinctive red accents and tow hooks, as well as steel rock rails safeguarding both the cab and bed corners. On the other hand, the Gladiator Mojave, renowned for its high-speed desert prowess, incorporates the Command-Trac part-time transfer case with a 2.72:1 4LO ratio, FOX 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks equipped with reservoirs, FOX front hydro jounce bumpers, a 1-inch front suspension lift, a Tru-Lok rear-axle locker, the same robust Dana 44 heavy-duty solid front and rear axles with a 4.10 axle ratio, 17-inch aluminum wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires, striking orange accents and tow hooks, steel rock rails protecting the cab, a performance hood featuring a center scoop, a sporty steering wheel, sport seats with performance bolsters, and the Off Road+ system complete with a high-speed mode for the rear locker. For 2024, the Gladiator Mojave X and Gladiator Rubicon X further enhance their off-road prowess by including standard features like a full-time transfer case, an integrated off-road camera, and front and rear steel bumpers. Furthermore, the upgraded Gladiator Willys, also new for 2024, takes capability to the next level by introducing standard Tru-Lok rear-axle lockers, Off-road+ mode that optimizes throttle response, transmission shift points, and traction control for peak performance on higher-speed sand terrain passes, as well as during low-speed rock crawling. This mode also facilitates the locking of the rear axle in 4HI, and the package is completed with a trailer tow option equipped with programmable auxiliary switches.
A Proven Body-On-Frame Design
The 2024 Gladiator achieves unparalleled capability with its body-on-frame design and a meticulously engineered five-link suspension system, ensuring refined on-road performance and advanced safety features. To enhance efficiency, lightweight yet robust aluminum components are strategically employed, including doors, door hinges, hood, fender flares, windshield frame, and tailgate. These reduce weight and improve fuel economy. The steel bed is reinforced by four cross-members for added strength, while the damped aluminum tailgate ensures safe and secure operation. Maximizing utility, integrated tie-downs, under-rail bed lighting, and an optional covered external power source are included. The proven five-link coil suspension system is retained, featuring high-strength steel control arms and track bars for precise axle control. Specially tuned shocks balance on-road comfort and legendary off-road capability, offering an ideal ride with precise body-roll control and dynamic handling.
An Impressive Powertrain
The Jeep Gladiator has a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that packs a punch with 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine also includes engine stop-start (ESS) as part of the standard package. It's been thoughtfully engineered to provide a wide range of torque, mainly delivering robust low-end torque, crucial for off-roading, heavy-duty hauling, or towing a trailer. The Gladiator offers a standard six-speed manual for manual transmission enthusiasts, while an optional eight-speed automatic transmission is available. The six-speed manual grants the Gladiator an impressive best-in-class crawl ratio of up to 84:1, while the eight-speed automatic still impresses with a crawl ratio of up to 77:1. So, whether you prefer shifting gears manually or letting the automatic transmission handle the work, the Gladiator has you covered.
A Bunch of Advanced and Standard Safety Features
Safety and security were top priorities during the development of the 2024 Jeep Gladiator, and it offers an extensive range of more than 85 active and passive safety features. New for 2024, all models come standard with first- and second-row side curtain airbags, complementing the existing driver and passenger front airbags and front seat-mounted driver and passenger side airbags. Additionally, for the 2024 model year, the Gladiator introduces second-row outboard seatbelts equipped with pretensioners, load limiters, and structural enhancements to bolster side-impact performance. The Sport S and higher trims now include standard forward collision warning and advanced cruise control with stop functionality. Meanwhile, the Mojave X and Rubicon X trims come standard with blind-spot, cross-path detection, and a ParkSense rear park-assist system, also available on the Sport S, Willys, Mojave, and Rubicon models. All models feature a ParkView rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines, traction control, and electronic stability control (ESC), featuring electronic roll mitigation for added safety on the road.
