The Renegade is an aptly-named Jeep, since there's a rarefied spirit that's shared by the compact SUV's owners. The Renegade offers Warren MI and Rochester Hills drivers a fresh, rugged vision of Jeep styling, while still paying homage to tradition with such touches as the iconic seven-slot grille.
You can tell that the Renegade is related to the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee from its design lines, but the abundance of black trim and curves offer a modern take on the brand. Inside, there's room for five adults, with ample legroom for all passengers. When the rear seats are upright, there's 18.5 cubic feet of storage space in back; fold those seats down and that space more than doubles to 50.9 cubic feet.
The Jeep Renegade is available in four trim levels: Sport Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. Even the base model comes well-equipped, including such features as a rearview camera, 6-way adjustable driver's seat, USB-input and power windows and locks.
There are two engines available for the Jeep Renegade, depending on the trim level you choose. Sport and Latitude models are equipped with a standard 1.4-liter turbocharged inline-6 engine that pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission to make 160 horsepower, 184-pound-feet of torque and deliver an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 24 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. Limited and Trailhawk models feature a standard 2.4-liter inline-4 that teams to a 9-speed automatic transmission to generate 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, with fuel efficiency of 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. That larger 2.4-liter engine is also available as an option for the Sport and Latitude models.
